A Little about me...

I have proudly lived in Raleigh since 1989 and hope to always call this fabulous city home! I went to Athens Drive High School, then on to Meredith College where I received my BS in Fashion Merchandising.

How Jill's Beach came along: I opened the first Jill’s Beach while attending Meredith College in 2002 with my amazing Mom Joanne. Since then I have worked hard at making our salons the best in the business. I believe in the benefits of UV light and have a passion for educating people on how to maximize the benefits of UV light and minimize the risk. My Mom is now retired, but still my go to girl when I need advice or guidance, with everything, not just The Beaches.

My Philanthropy's: I am now retired as the merchandise chair for the Susan G. Komen foundation but will continue on as an active volunteer. I have been an active volunteer with The Crape Myrtle Festival (CMF) for the past 3 years and will continue to help CMF raise awareness for HIV/AIDS and help those living in our community affected by the disease.

Home Life: I'm a Wife, a Mother, a Daughter, a Sister, an Aunt, a Friend; in other words I'm a busy girl! My family all live nearby and I am blessed with 4 nephews and 2 nieces, all of which are perfect! I share my life with a group of girlfriends that I have had for 22 years and my husband of 4 years, TJ. TJ is an amazing chef and together we own Donovan's Dish, A Catering Company. The perks of a chef for a husband are endless, and sometimes a little damaging to the waistline. Together we have the love of our lives, Jillian, our baby girl who has really changed everything in our lives.

I am a "bit" social and am sometimes out and about and love to see the Jill’s Beach customers. If you see me out, please say hey, I’d love to have a chat and of course thank you for tanning with us!

Side note...I have an amazing father, his name is John and he is the best ever, so smart and super funny, truly the reason I have the business savvy that I do. He negotiates all my deals with me and makes sure I'm on the ball. "Early bird gets the worm", "Squeaky wheel gets the grease" & my favorite "Loose lips sink ships." Just a few of the Big John-isms that have transformed my thinking when it comes to business. (He was a little disgruntled he didn't get mentioned earlier, so I figured I'd give him his own paragraph).
